On June 19, 2008, Southern Copper Corporation (the Company) filed a Current Report on Form 8-K and an accompanying press release announcing that the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors approved a three-for-one stock split of the Companys common stock, par value $0.01 per share (the Common Stock). This Amendment to the Companys Current Report on Form 8-K is being filed to correct the number of shares of Common Stock outstanding prior to, and after completion of the stock split.
The correct number of shares of Common Stock outstanding prior to the stock split is 294,465,650 and the number of shares of Common Stock that will be outstanding after completion of the stock split will be 883,396,950.
