Barclays PLC
Barclays PLC (the "Company") announces that on 17 September 2007 it purchased
for cancellation 5,900,000 Barclays ordinary shares at a price of 579.1612 pence
each. This purchase was carried out pursuant to the Buy Back Programme, details
of which were announced on 23 July and 2 August 2007. All shares purchased have
been cancelled.
