Item 8.01. Other Events.
On July 13, 2005, Ampex Corporation announced that it has concluded a license agreement with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., based in Korea. The agreement was entered into pursuant to Ampex’s ongoing patent licensing program, and permits the use of several U.S. and foreign patents held by Ampex in the manufacture and sale of digital video tape recorders, including MiniDV camcorders. The agreement also permits Samsung to use certain Ampex patents in other camcorders utilizing hard disc drive, optical or solid-state memories. A copy of Ampex's press release is included as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and is incorporated herein by reference.
