Electrical Sector Names Jeff Krakowiak Integration Leader for the Acquisition of Cooper Industries
August 1, 2012
This information will also be issued as a news release to the appropriate professional, trade and local media.
Jeff Krakowiak has been appointed Cooper Industries integration leader reporting to Tom Gross, vice chairman and chief operating officer Electrical Sector. Krakowiak succeeds Brian Brickhouse, who was recently named president Power Quality Organization.
Eaton reached agreement to acquire Cooper, a global electrical equipment manufacturer with 2011 sales revenues totaling $5.4B and approximately 26,000 employees, on May 21, 2012. The transaction is anticipated to be finalized this fall after receiving the necessary regulatory approvals. Until then, Krakowiak will retain his responsibilities as vice president and general manager Canada for the Electrical Sector, Americas Region.
To integrate Cooper into the Electrical Sector, Krakowiak will lead all aspects of integration planning in advance of the acquisition and will develop the future strategy and operating structure to optimize the strength of the combined brands. Dave Foster, finance integration leader, will report to Krakowiak. Additional members of the integration team will be named nearer to the close of the transaction.
Integration planning is off to a terrific start and Jeff will immediately begin transitioning the leadership role that was kicked off by Brian, said Gross. Jeff is a proven leader, skilled general manager, and is recognized for having exceptional sales and marketing capabilities attributes that make him well-qualified to lead this complex integration.
Krakowiak was appointed vice president and general manager Canada, Electrical Sector Americas, in 2010. Previously, he served as Eatons senior vice president Corporate Sales and Marketing and as the Automotive Groups director of sales for the Ford account. He joined Eaton in 2005 from Visteon and previously worked for Ford Motor Company, where he began his career as a product design engineer.
With a bachelors degree in electrical engineering and a masters degree in business administration from the University of Michigan, Krakowiak also holds a masters of science in engineering from Purdue University in Indiana.
He will be based in Cleveland, Ohio.
