Item 2.02  Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

 

On November 6, 2008, The AES Corporation issued a press release announcing its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. A copy of the press release is being furnished as Exhibit 99.1 attached hereto and is incorporated by reference herein.  Such information is furnished pursuant to Item 2.02 and shall not be deemed “filed” for any purpose, including for the purposes of Section 18 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended (the “Exchange Act”), or otherwise subject to the liabilities of that Section. Item 7.01  Regulation FD Disclosure.

 

On November 6, 2008, The AES Corporation issued a press release announcing its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 and revisions to its previously announced guidance.  The Company currently plans to provide additional revised guidance when it reports its year-end results for all guidance not addressed in the attached release, including the years beyond 2009.  A copy of the press release is being furnished as Exhibit 99.1 attached hereto and is incorporated by reference herein.  Such information is furnished pursuant to Item 7.01 and shall not be deemed “filed” for any purpose, including for the purposes of Section 18 of the Exchange Act, or otherwise subject to the liabilities of that Section.
