Item 2.01.    Completion of Acquisition or Disposition of Assets
 
On September 25, 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of the Genco Thunder, a 2007-built Panamax vessel, from Bocimar International N.V.  The Company had agreed to buy the vessel under the terms of agreements that the Company entered into with Bocimar International N.V. and Delphis N.V. on May 9, 2008 to purchase three drybulk vessels for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $257 million.  The Genco Thunder is the third vessel to be delivered to the Company under such agreements.  The Company paid a total purchase price of approximately $91 million for the Genco Thunder, which the Company financed with borrowings under its 2007 credit facility.  The Genco Thunder is expected to be delivered to its charterer, Glory Wealth Shipping Pte. Ltd., on or about September 27, 2008, to commence a short-term time charter for approximately 50 days at a rate of $35,000 per day, less a 5% third party brokerage commission.
