The red sashes tied around their waists fluttered in the wind, the pink folding fans turned freely on their wrists, and the volunteers in colorful costumes danced to the music, blessing the newlywed couple, making the whole wedding celebration lively and warm.
“This is the 7th time I’ve performed for free at a wedding celebration. Whenever there are newlyweds getting married in the town, we will come to perform. The local people really appreciate this form of blessing.” Liu Chengan, the captain of the Shangquan Village cultural performance volunteer service team, was also immersed in the joy of the wedding celebration. It is reported that all the villages in the county have established volunteer service teams for wedding celebrations. On the basis of policy publicity and matchmaking, they actively provide services such as on-site layout, wedding hosting, and cultural performances for the newlyweds.
On the first day of the May Day holiday this year, the Love Island in Sanqiao Scenic Area of Yishui County was full of romantic elements such as floral arches, colorful balloons, and love song playlists. With the opening dance “Prosperous Celebration Song”, the 2024 “Wedding Custom Reform – Flowers Blossom in Yishui” collective wedding ceremony officially kicked off the celebration.

Recently, at the credit exchange supermarket in Donghexi Village, Ruan Chunxiang used the credit points she had accumulated from volunteering to exchange for two palm fans. “In the past few days during the Dragon Boat Festival, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, I actively signed up for volunteer activities in the village and accumulated a lot of points. I feel very proud to have these palm fans in my hands,” Ruan Chunxiang said.
