As part of this partnership, GoldenTree will also serve as the Title Sponsor for the 37th Annual Chefs’ Tribute to Citymeals event on Monday, June 10th, at Cipriani South Street. Attendees will have the chance to sample gourmet creations while contributing to a critical cause, as all proceeds directly fund the delivery of meals to our older neighbors in need.

The walk-around tasting event will feature dozens of leading chefs serving their signature dishes, craft cocktails from the city’s leading bars and abundant fine wine, live entertainment, and opportunities for attendees to engage with culinary leaders, ensuring a memorable experience that raises crucial funds to combat elder hunger.

With a portion of GoldenTree's $100,000 donation supporting the 37th Annual Chefs’ Tribute to Citymeals, this year's event is expected to surpass previous fundraising efforts, directly supporting their ability to deliver over 2 million meals annually to vulnerable older adults.

"GoldenTree is a proud partner of Citymeals on Wheels, and we remain committed to supporting their mission of providing vital meals and companionship to New York's homebound elderly,” said GoldenTree Founding Partner, Steven Shapiro. “This partnership embodies our firm’s steadfast dedication to serving the communities in which GoldenTree operates. Through our annual Run to Combat Hunger, we continue to support and strengthen the fight against food insecurity.”

“Citymeals is grateful to GoldenTree for their generous partnership, which helps strengthen our lifeline of nourishing meals for older New Yorkers,” said Citymeals on Wheels CEO Beth Shapiro. “With their sponsorship of Chefs’ Tribute, we look forward to a banner fundraising event this year, with all proceeds directly supporting our fight to end elder hunger.”

About Citymeals on Wheels

Citymeals on Wheels (citymeals.org) provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to nearly 22,000 homebound elderly New Yorkers. Working in partnership with community-based organizations and older adult centers, Citymeals prepared and delivered nearly 2 million weekend, holiday and emergency meals last year. Last year, nearly 14,000 volunteers gave more than 50,000 hours of time to Citymeals’ mission.

Since its founding in 1981, Citymeals has relied on the generosity of its Board of Directors, the City of New York, sponsors, and other designated gifts to cover administrative costs. This ensures that 100% of all public donations will be used entirely for preparing and delivering meals.
