Travelers Institute Announces Fall 2024 Wednesdays with Woodward® Webinar Schedule

Topics will include employment practices liability, emerging talent and cybersecurity threats

The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV), today announced its Wednesdays with Woodward fall 2024 schedule. The webinar series, hosted by Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy at Travelers, features thought leaders from both the public and private sectors discussing relevant topics for companies and consumers.

“Changing workplace dynamics, shifting cybersecurity trends, an evolving insurance marketplace – the hurdles and opportunities facing individuals and businesses are a moving target, and we’re going to tackle them during our fall lineup,” said Woodward. “We have some incredible guests on the schedule who will offer their expertise and walk us through the best strategies for navigating today’s most pressing challenges.”

  • Sept. 10: “How the Pursuit of Happiness Defines America: A Conversation with Jeffrey Rosen” – Jeffrey Rosen, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Constitution Center, will join Janice Brunner, Group General Counsel and Head of Civic Engagement at Travelers, to discuss Rosen’s book “The Pursuit of Happiness: How Classical Writers on Virtue Inspired the Lives of the Founders and Defined America.” Part of the “Citizen Travelers at the Travelers Institute” series, this webinar will explore what America’s founders meant by “the pursuit of happiness” and how the concept continues to shape the country today.



  • Sept. 18: “Employment Practices Liability Explained: What You Need to Know” – Sarah Skubas, Partner with the law firm Jackson Lewis, and Chris Williams, Assistant Vice President of Executive Liability and EPL Product Manager at Travelers, will join Woodward to explore the current trends in employment-related insurance claims, as well as recent legal changes and strategies that employers can use to mitigate employment liability risks.



  • Sept. 25: “Future-Focused: Strategies for Engaging Emerging Talent” – Shawn VanDerziel, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Colleges and Employers; Bruce Soltys, Vice President of Emerging Talent at Travelers; and Diana Sanchez, Manager of Economic & Public Policy Insights at Travelers, will delve into strategies to help companies attract and retain emerging talent. Panelists will discuss workforce demographic trends and share insights from existing talent programs.



  • Oct. 2: “Get Cyber Ready: Best Practices for Navigating Today’s Biggest Threats” – Tony Collings, Cybersecurity State Coordinator for Illinois, Region 5, at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency; Renee Wynn, former Chief Information Officer at NASA; and Tim Francis, Enterprise Cyber Lead at Travelers, will provide insights into the latest cyber threats and essential practices for safeguarding networks, devices and data.



  • Oct. 9: “Mastering Market Shifts: What Independent Insurance Professionals Need to Know” – Charles Symington, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big “I”), and Sean Ramalho, Executive Vice President of Enterprise Distribution at Travelers, will join Woodward for a conversation about the evolving insurance landscape for independent agents and brokers.



  • Oct. 23: “AI in Action: The Future of Risk Management Through Predict & Prevent™” – Peter Miller, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Institutes, joins Woodward to discuss his thoughts on the transformative potential of the Predict & Prevent model in risk management and insurance. He’ll explore how this proactive approach could leverage artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies to not only enhance safety for policyholders but also lessen disruptions to their daily lives and businesses as well as reduce associated costs for insurance companies.
