As the US population ages, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia have been on the rise. According to the Alzheimer's Association, the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research, about 7 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, and this number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million by 2050.

Sun Towers Retirement Community’s certified nursing assistants are trained at the Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute at the University of South Florida and are equipped to address residents’ cognitive, emotional, and physical needs. They provide comprehensive Extended Congregate Care (ECC) services as part of the community’s memory care program.

The center's independent living apartments offer luxury amenities, leisure activities, and security at affordable prices. They allow residents to remain independent while retaining access to medical staff, should they be needed. On any given day, the community hosts half a dozen resident-inspired entertainment and group activities, including regular exercise on weekday mornings, bingo on select weekdays, and daily morning coffee-and-chat sessions.

The facilities offer nine different types of floor plans available for every taste and budget, ranging from smaller studio floor plans to larger one- and two-bedroom options and private suites specially adapted for memory care.

Sun Towers Retirement Community offers assisted living amenities as well, replete with licensed Extended Congregate Care and outpatient rehabilitation services. Their range of amenities allows residents to maintain their independence while enjoying access to a full continuum of long-term care services.

“I receive wonderful care here. Even at 104 years young, I take part in all the fun things going on,” said one satisfied resident of 13 years. “The nurses are great and give me a lot of attention. They call me ‘Grams,’ and I love it. The food is good, and I couldn’t ask for anything better. This is a home within a home.”
