President & CEO of the Company, John Ricci, joined Stock Day host Everett Jolly.
Jolly began the interview by asking about Danavation's background and current projects. "Danavation was a company we formed in 2018 as an offshoot of my privately-held company Dana Industries," shared Ricci. "Dana industries is a company that is immersed in total retail solutions," he explained. "Our main product line is the printed material, and we're Home of the World's Best Engineered Shelf Talkers™," said Ricci. "We've been doing that for 30 years in both Canada and North America with a trusted supplier and some of North America's largest retailers that have relied on us for not only our product, but creative solutions and ideas as well."
"We went public with Danavation in the beginning of 2021," said Ricci. "We are a startup; however, we are a startup in an existing company," he said. "What we share is the legacy business customers," added Ricci. "It's been a big boost to us in terms of our marketing, initial product assessments, and marketing engagement meetings with some of these customers."
Jolly then commented on a recent press release detailing Danavation's first international deal with Smith Technologies Ltd. "They went with us because of our integrity, trust, and experience in the industry," said Ricci. "We have a longer history than any one of our competitors," he added. "We're happy they chose us, and it's a good opportunity for the Bermuda market to get Danavation into their stores, as well as the Caribbean and parts of Latin America."
"What do you think the future holds for your company going forward?", asked Jolly. "Heavy on the software," responded Ricci. "We've got some exciting new features coming out in the next two to six months," he said, adding that the software will focus on consumer engagement and consumer experience. Ricci also shared that the new features will include revenue generating tools. "That is very exciting for us."
Jolly then asked about Danavation's Digital Smart Labels™. "A Digital Smart Label™ is an electronic shelf label that comes in sizes from 1.5 inches all the way up to tablet size," said Ricci, adding that the labels use similar technology to the Kindle. "It sits on the shelf, looks exactly like paper if you're looking at it. We can add color and we can put images on there," he added. "We have some really high-resolution products right now and we're very happy with where we are going."
Ricci then encouraged listeners and shareholders to learn more about Danavation's current and potential partnerships, as well as upcoming developments, through their website and news releases. To close the interview, Ricci also expressed his confidence in Danavation's potential, given their extensive experience and connections in the retail space. "We don't back down from any challenge," said Ricci. "We're very flexible and we would give you home field advantage," he continued.
