The Aesthetic Society is a global organization dedicated to plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine. This significant appointment, which was determined by fellow members of the Society, was announced at The Aesthetic Meeting 2024 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

About Dr. Kiya Movassaghi: Dr. Kiya Movassaghi, MD, FACS, has become a prominent figure in the field of plastic surgery since establishing his practice in Eugene, Oregon in 2002. A Harvard Medical School graduate, Dr. Movassaghi completed his plastic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Program, followed by a general surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Additionally, he holds a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Harvard Dental School, where he graduated magna cum laude, and completed a residency in maxillofacial surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Movassaghi is uniquely qualified for this prestigious designation, bringing over two decades of clinical practice in aesthetic medicine for the face and body and the experience he gained having held previous leadership roles within The Aesthetic Society: He served as a Board of Directors Member, Treasurer of the Executive Committee, Vice President (2022), and President-Elect (2023) before accepting his current role as President.
Movassaghi’s extensive credentials also include membership status and leadership roles within other renowned plastic surgery organizations, including the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Oregon Society of Plastic Surgery.
Having been recognized for meticulous surgical skill and outstanding patient care throughout his career, Dr. Movassaghi is a deeply respected authority in the field and eagerly shares his knowledge through academic contributions and in training fellow and future plastic surgeons. He is a former traveling professor for The Aesthetic Society and now serves as one of the organization’s aesthetic fellowship program Directors, mentoring upcoming plastic surgeons at his private surgical practice. Dr. Movassaghi also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He is the editor of “Shaping the Breast: Optimizing Outcomes in Breast Augmentation” and the author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles.
