MINNEAPOLIS - November 9, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

Kevin Phillips, a U.S. Air Force Veteran with a degree in the arts has completed his new book, "DRIVING WHILE BLACK: A MEMOIR OF PROFILING": a personal account meant to educate on the problematic effects of profiling.

Phillips shares, "Murder is murder. Killing someone can be intentional, unintentional, accidental, or in self-defense. But when an individual or individuals set out to hit an individual, or individuals, for personal reasons, this is murderous assassinating hate. During the 1960s, the first decade of my life, produced the most historically profound and well-known cases of assassination profiling—John F. Kennedy; Robert Kennedy; Martin Luther King Jr.; Medgar Evers; Fred Hampton; Malcolm X; the Freedom Summer murders of Goodman, Chaney, and Schwerner; and let's not forget the grisly murders with which continues to infatuate that world committed by the infamous Charles Manson and his crew.

As I said before I, Kevin Phillips, will have had to have some type of connection to the profiling style I am writing about. My "thin degree of separation" to the assassination profile is my dear grandmother. We live in a time when people take pride in ignoring their solid wit and common sense: 'Alexa, do this'; 'GPS, do that'; or 'I must google my next thought just to be sure my last thought was on point.'"

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Kevin Phillips' new book is a compelling retelling of the events that occurred in his own life and the way profiling, whether it be for race, religion, orientation, gender, etc. can affect the victims, and society, in a detrimental way.

Readers can purchase "DRIVING WHILE BLACK: A MEMOIR OF PROFILING" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
