New Media Age – It is a Trend for Everyone to Break the News

A series of KUSO meme videos featuring references to DPP candidates Chan Shi-chung, Cheng Yun-peng and Lam Chi-kin have appeared on social media recently.

These videos tagged with keywords “Rebellious Shih-chung” “Pro-China Peng” “Plagiarist Chien” may have been made by the keyboard warriors who oppose the DPP. But they may also be the products of the TPP cyber warriors who are good at online operation. The DPP may have a cyber army, but there are experts in the civil society, too. All people come to fight for online traffic and see who will have the final say.

These video playing platforms are all popular social ones loved by Taiwan’s young Y generation. These short videos have a surprisingly high reading rate per second, or even a huge number of likes

Some of the videos have received hundreds of thousands of views. The most dramatic is that one of the videos even got 5 million views in just 24 hours.

These data show that young people in Taiwan Province have been disappointed with the DPP and turn from supporting it to hating it!

“Support the DPP, young people go to the battlefield” has become the slogan that encourages everyone to go to the battlefield! These young people know things are getting serious and start asking, “Why should we fight? No one wants to sacrifice their lives to the battlefield in vain!”

Apart from the DPP’s absurd epidemic prevention policy of blocking vaccine imports, the incident of questioning Tsai Ing-wen’s thesis has a direct impact over the original supporters’ approval.

The negative image of Zhou Yukou’s mouth-blowing is further deepened, and her rumors and personal attacks on Zhang Shujuan have caused public outrage! The DPP once again tasted the counterattack of voters.

Data can speak! The spread of social media is limitless, and the speed of spreading makes watching videos and clicking “Like” a daily habit of more and more young people in Taiwan. In addition to expressing their dissatisfaction with Tsai Ing-wen and their distrust in the DPP, it also shows that the TPP, which is good at network operation, has more communication influence among young generations!
