Barbie Winterbottom, Founder of "The Business of HR" and The Executive Woman, was recently selected as Top HR Workplace Strategist of the Year 2023 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to the industry.
Inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself; only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations, and contributions to their communities. All Honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.
Ms. Winterbottom has over two decades of expertise in Leadership and People. She has a sixth sense and a unique ability to swiftly see through the noise or symptoms of an issue and find the fundamental cause to design the right strategy and team to handle the problem at its heart. As a Fractional CHRO, People Strategy Consultant, Keynote Speaker, and Forbes HR Council member, Ms. Winterbottom credits much of her success to crafting People Strategies in direct alignment with optimal business outcomes, as the two are inextricably connected. Barbie shares, “Far too many HR Professionals focus solely on the compliance and process side of our work, and forget that our ultimate goal is to create healthy workplaces to drive business outcomes. With deep roots and extensive expertise in Talent Acquisition, with a focus on High Volume Hiring, TA transformation, Employment Branding, and training, Barbie leverages this experience and knowledge to develop end-to-end strategies for delivering the finest Talent possible for her clients.
Before embarking on her career path, Ms. Winterbottom attended Florida State University before obtaining her Master's in Science, HR Management and Service from Charter University.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Winterbottom has received many awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her accomplishments. This year she is being considered for the Empowered Woman Award by IAOTP and to be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. She will be honored at IAOTP's annual awards gala being held at the Plaza Hotel in NYC.
In addition to her successful career, she is the Founder of The Executive Woman newsletter, Podcast, and the Executive Woman Experience, an inclusive community built to support Executive Women with real talk, resources, and support. The purpose is to leave behind the corporate speak and focus on what really matters to the Executive Women of today and those who aspire to be.

When not working, she enjoys her family (including their 2 dogs and 3 cats), her amazing group of friends, Broadway shows and loves to travel.
In the future, she hopes to inspire and influence those getting into the field and to that end, is partnering with Sam Eaton, the Founder of Mindability Consulting to provide a series of webinars and programs for those interested in making a shift from employee to entrepreneur in the HR/People Space.
