Fluke Corp. Co-Sponsors 46th WorldSkills Competition With 62 Competitions Taking Place in 15 Countries and Regions

Global skills event demonstrates the importance of skilled people in achieving economic growth

More than 1,000 vocational students from 57 countries and regions are demonstrating their skills and competing head-to-head to be the best in the world at WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition. Fluke Corp. is a Global Industry Partner of this global skills event that promotes and celebrates vocational education. Fluke’s tools and equipment are utilized at the event to ensure accuracy and precision throughout the competitions.

The WorldSkills Competition is usually held every two years in a member country, but the 2022 event, which was to be held in Shanghai, had to be cancelled due to pandemic prevention and control restrictions in China. WorldSkills International and its Member and Global Partners immediately started planning an alternative version of the event which spread the competitions over a 12-week period with events in 15 countries and regions across Europe, North America, and East Asia.

As it has for over 20 years, Fluke is sponsoring the Competition and providing its technologies to be used in skill categories ranging from automotive technology, refrigeration and air conditioning, to renewable energy and opto electronic technology, helping participants to compete at their highest level.

“It is clear, skills excellence is part of Fluke’s DNA and that is what makes them a perfect partner for WorldSkills,” said Alexander Amiri, WorldSkills Director of Sponsorship and Partnership. “Their tools and equipment provide the accuracy, reliability, and precision required at the highest level. Together, we are developing global opportunities for highly-skilled, digitally-fluent talent that is ready to accelerate the digital transformation needed for industries to thrive.”

The largest skills competition in the world, WorldSkills brings together vocational students from 57 countries and regions to compete in 62 skill areas. The competitors, all under the age of 26, simulate real work challenges that must be completed according to international industry standards.

“As older skill areas have evolved and new ones — like renewable energy — have been created, developing the skills to work with new technologies and new industries is essential,” said Sean Silvey, Fluke product application specialist. “The WorldSkills Competition sets a high bar for skills development and technical knowledge allowing these young students a forum to demonstrate how they have honed their skills to master the new technologies that will make them successful.”

People can follow the activities on the Fluke social networks: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
