Single FIXIN TOO Duet with Molly Lovette Ushers in 2025 Debut Album for MARCH 2025 release

Classically Trained Yet Country to the Brim: James Hollingsworth Crosses Disciplines, Not Genres, KILLING it with “COUNTRY MUSIC in MY VEINS” follows this with New Single “FIXIN TOO “ / Duet with Molly Lovette Ushers in 2025 Debut Album for MARCH 2025 release

THE HEART of TEXAS -In a tiny little town called West, Texas, James Hollingsworth lived so  reclusively that he jokes “Growing up I did not know what year we were in.” Raised primarily by his great-grandmother, it was a far different time and a far different world back then. Most folks will say, in jest, that they were raised in a honky tonk, but for James, he pretty much was. In very small rural towns like these, honky tonks are family places and James’ grandfather, who loved the music and the ladies, wore a deep path to their “family place” with little James in tow. Music was always around, and it was how his family communicated, pointing out lyrics as a way to get one’s point of view across. His very rural upbringing was tattooed on his soul, and it wasn’t until the world came to their front porch after the town’s fertilizer plant exploded that a 12-year-old James realized they were not, in fact, living on an island. In high school, while his town seemed to get smaller, his world got a whole lot bigger, and so did his newly discovered talent.

James enrolled in band class and emerged into the world of classical jazz. He immediately took to the intricate grooves and grueling disciplines like his grandfather to a honky tonk; he felt right at home. “My brain just understood it. Jazz is like a puzzle. If you can figure it out and make your brain and fingers match…it’s like gold.” In his sophomore year he started competing, and by his senior year he was the #2 clarinet player in the state. His love for jazz, however, never diluted the country music running deep in his veins. He just traveled from horn to guitar using the tracks already laid by his vigorous training. James dabbled in college for a brief time until the harsh realities of life came calling once again and making a living snagged the spotlight. Still a very young buck, his social life had all the hallmarks of a “musician becoming” with an apartment resembling a bar and a voice echoing the genesis of country music. At the urging of his friends, James put a serious focus on music and discovered quickly that songwriting also came naturally. His songs are bucolic and unprocessed with heart-on-the-sleeve recounting of family tales, well-worn life, and the fight to keep going with your back against the wall. The very first song he ever wrote “Trouble” garnered him enough notoriety to start playing locally, and then regionally. With the release of his second song and first radio single “Upon My Brim” fans were travelling to see him perform. The industry by this point was smelling something in the water and were coming closer to investigate. The release of his second radio single “Country Music In My Veins” breaks the Top 40 in Texas and the buzz about James Hollingsworth is officially underway. James just signed with new indie label Big Mac Entertaiment and started recording his debut album in Nashville with producer Smith Curry (Shaboozey, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Cody Johnson). The album is slated for release in March 2025. In the meantime, look for James’ new single “Fixin’ Too” in February, a duet recorded with up-and-coming country music artist Molly Lovette whose face is featured on Nashville billboards. www.jameshollingsworthmusic.com
